Innocence in Danger Calls for France to Reinvestigate Epstein Case

(MENAFN) The international child protection organization Innocence in Danger announced on Tuesday that it is considering filing a complaint to push for the reopening of a France-based investigation into the activities of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to reports.

"Innocence en danger is currently studying the possibility of filing a complaint," Homayra Sellier, the group’s president and founder, told a broadcaster.

Sellier explained that she has “appointed five lawyers” to request the revival of the 2019 investigation, which was closed in 2022 following the suicide of French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, a close associate of Epstein who had been convicted of rape and sexual harassment.

"There is sufficient evidence for the justice system to take up this case," she said, adding, "Jean-Luc Brunel was only one link in this network. The network itself needed to be investigated. At the time, underage victims had contacted us."

Sellier also noted that she “started receiving testimonies again” and encouraged those affected to file complaints to enable a new investigation.

"If people file complaints in France, the public prosecutor generally opens an investigation,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told a broadcaster earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, a Swedish woman filed a complaint on Tuesday with the Paris prosecutor’s office alleging rape and human trafficking against Daniel Siad, who is suspected of having acted as a recruiter for Epstein, according to reports.
